What is Budapest Card for?
The Budapest Card can be used for three public transportation ( inside Budapest only) and you can also have discounts in restaurants, museums and for sight-seeing tours. Two-, or three –day cards are available at the hotels or tourist offices.

Money Forint -Euro
The Hungarian currency is the Forint ( HUF). You can exchange your money at banks, exchange points or in your hotel. Always check the rate and ask if they take off any commission. Banks are open Mon-Fri from 9am-to 4pm, exhange points may be open up to 9pm.
Major credit cards are accepted almost in every restaurant, hotel and shop. ATM terminals are spread all around in the city, but for withdrawing money you will need a pin-code.
Budapest is a relatively safe city; there are quite a few policemen in downtown and around the main tourist attractions. In Budapest – like in other major cities around the world – there are picpockets so be careful in crowded places like trams, buses or in crowds.

To get a taxi, always ask the hotel or restaurant staff, because taxi-drivers on the streets may over-charge you.
