FÜZÉRRADVÁNY

The community of Füzérradvány is located approximately 90 kilometres far from Miskolc in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. The land had been possessed by the Füzéry family since the 15th century. Later in 1686 Lipót the First donated the land and the castle to the Károlyi family who used the hunting chateau and centre of the lordship.
At the end of the 19th century László Károlyi intended to create an original renaissance atmosphere in this chateau and with his wife collected renaissance and baroque art of works for over 20 years. Between 1860 and 1870 the famous architecture of his age, Mikló Ybl reconstructed the building in romantic style. Consequently, the Italian renaissance interior and the romantic appearance are really representative.
Nowadays, it functions as a museum, furthermore, the park is one of Hungary’s biggest English parks with its 100 hectares and also unique because of the 200 and 300 years old trees.
