THERE IS NO CULTURE WITHOUT PEOPLE, AND NO ARCHITECTURE WITHOUT CULTURE

Heritage maintains dialogue: a unique dialogue between the Past and the Present.  Architectural heritage is the glue which bonds people together and connects our past with our future.

In recent decades historic complexes of castle ruins and fortifications have been gaining more and more interest, mainly because people started to look for authenticity, aesthetic stimuli, and new experiences. Ruins have no boundaries, they function outside of time. Historical objects preserved as permanent ruins no longer fulfil their original functions, but they still act on people imagination. They evoke nostalgia for an earlier age that had not yet lost its power to imagine other futures.

Castles, mansions, fortifications and historical ports are a particular example of architectural heritage. Moreover, castles, fortresses represent our complicated past as well. In many cases they are not only unique in their locations but are important for the communities as well for historical and emotional reasons. Therefore, it is essential to preserve the historical value of the built heritage.

The idea of the online and offline photo exhibitions & catalogue with international conferences was born last year with the aim of the revalorise cultural and heritage tourism and architectural surroundings as well, and reactivation of historical structures of castles, mansions, fortresses and ports for local development as well.

The Programme aims to promote the publication of the castles, mansions,  fortifications and ports in English, and prepare an online and later offline built heritage exhibition as well.
